Users of the Metro circle line will reach their destination faster compared to those travelling the same distance by bus and tram. The Metro line has its own separate infrastructure, independent of street traffic with its cars, cyclists, pedestrians and traffic lights. Trains on the Metro travel faster. Calculations show that the Metro circle line will,
at minimum, half travel times between Nydalen, Storo and Sinsen and the city centre, in comparison with the bus route. The greatest time difference occurs on the route between Nydalen and the National theatre: 10 minutes by Metro, 27 minutes by bus.
When the Metro circle line is complete, users are likely to want to choose from a series of departures in both directions, in other words, have access to a high frequency public transport service. The Metro circle line will offer a shorter route to the centre to all those living, working or studying in the urban districts along Store Ringvei.
The Metro circle line passes a number of public transport junctions. This opens the door to new transfer options and efficient travel schedules for public transport users that pass all of the 13 Metro stations that are included in the ring.
